Being a Local Guide means sharing passions and being helpful to others.

Honestly I can’t remember when exactly this Local Guide experience started.

When traveling abroad, as well as when I’m in Italy, one of my favourite activities is going out to restaurants, bars or cafés to taste typical food and wines or have a drink with friends. And I always rely on Local Guides whose reviews are so helpful.

So, at first I began to use the program along with Google Maps to find advices on where to go to spend my spare time. It seemed then pretty natural to me to give my own contribution and become myself a Local Guide. I wanted to help other people knowing the places that I visited and loved or, if need be, keeping off from others which aren’t worth it.

Another great feature of the program is that through my reviews I’m able to encourage local owners giving them some visibility by recommending their businesses or sharing useful details like the policy of the place or the owner’s philosophy.

Here stands the true meaning of the program to me. Being helpful to each other by sharing our advices about our passions. And the best thing is that it’s worldwide ! Which means you may be in contact with a lot of different people and learn from them.

That’s why I really hope to be selected for Connect Live 2020 because I know I will listen to many useful tips fom all the other Local Guides I will meet. I can’t wait to share experiences with them and learn from pros. After all I’m just a Level 5 willing to grow up and to exploit all the program’s features !

Hello @BlueMiller ,

You may be new on Connect or writing to share a post for your Connect Live application. If you’re applying to Connect Live be sure to share a link to a new Connect post responding to this year’s application prompts. You can find everything you need to know about writing a post for Connect Live 2020 by taking a look at the guidelines. You can also check How to write a great application post for Connect Live 2020 and Your guide to creating lists on Google Maps.

P.S.: Keep in mind that one of the requirements is to share your post on the Local Stories board. I’ve moved your post there.

Thanx a lot for your comment, @TsekoV
