The most interesting thing I’ve done as Local Guide was in a summer afternoon in Ilha dos Marinheiros, Porto Alegre - Brazil, during a World Clubs Soccer game in 2017, when a club of my city, Gremio Football Portoalegrense, was playing against Real Madrid of Spain. It isn’t my team, but this game was very important for our city and Country, because Brazil could be champion of clubs. I was exactly in the country club of Gremio and some associate members extend those flags above, I got 19,000 views, just for this image!
Sometimes, a right picture in right place has much more value than a spectacular image! I never had imagine so large was the reach of this picture, neither some many people could see it!
Well, I understood the importance of Google Maps for humanity, by this way I’d could help, or to explain, even give a chance to another people to know anything interesting for them. But much more, we can transform life better, changing knowledge; getting new information or just shearing interesting things.
I continued working hard, answering questions about places I visited, Taking pictures of different landscape, cities I visited, as much as possible. It was growing and I was getting happy, I never was worried about degrees or point received. I just had my free time to do that, and monthly I received a report that got me curious: what does mean?
When I saw my picture with 19,000 looks, I couldn’t imagine who were those people, in another hand are; I believed I make a good job!
I hope each time more and more people can participate and share more information get easier for everybody so we can live in a more human World.
