Being a Local Guide is a Lifestyle!

What I most love to share on Google Maps is a tough question, I really love to keep Maps updated in every aspect because I think it’s so important in our daily lives.

Me (3rd from the right) and my family in Turin

My mum and I visited Turin, Italy, to see family, spend time together and enjoy Italian Food! I used Google Maps constantly to navigate and find places to visit and eat at, honestly it was incredible the information that was at my fingertips. I was navigating the place like I had lived there my whole life, Our holiday was 10x better simply because Maps gave us the freedom to roam the city like locals and we found so many awesome places!

This is why being a Local Guide is so important to me, we truly can make people’s lives better by sharing our knowledge on Maps.

I suppose my favourite thing to share on Google Maps has to be photos. A business or location on Maps with no photos can feel dull, real photos of those places really bring them to life and give you a real idea of what they’re like. It’s like an extension of street view, you can take a virtual tour through a place you would like to visit and check out all of the local spots to see exactly where you want to go. Nothing describes a place better than a local guides review alongside their attached pictures.

Photos on Google Maps are a big deal to me. It might seem like the most simple thing but photos that other people have shared have impacted where I visit and have even helped me see things I would never have been able to know without pictures. For example, I recently parked in a new place because someone had uploaded a review with photos of the recently changed parking bays alerting me to the fact that the bays were much larger and there was card payment available, I would have never known this otherwise. A small thing for some, but a big deal to me. That’s why I share pictures on Google Maps, because I think the detail matters and those pictures allow us all to have detail we could never have seen before without physically visiting a location.
