Being a Guide is My Pride

I would like to begin with how I got introduced to Google Maps. As part of my work requirements, I was transferred to a department that required me to travel a great deal across my state. It meant travelling to places whose names I had only heard of and sometimes not even that. This meant that I had to rely on someone who knew the routes very well, knew the manner in which I could get there and find places where I could stay at comfortably. The only solution to my problem proved to be Google Maps because I realised at that point that there was nothing else that could provide me with such information with such clarity. That was the dawn of a new world for me because I had up until then only sought the aid of the application to find my way in case I got lost or maybe to see the traffic I might come across if I used a particular road
All through those months I did not have to get help from anyone else because Google Maps presented all the kind of information I was looking for at the touch of my finger sitting anywhere I pleased. I regard this application as the greatest innovation the world has ever seen because with this applications it’s literally like the world is under my fingertip. During those years I solely depended on the application because when I had to sometimes travel to remote parts of the country, I had to know things that were authentic. After those days I knew for sure that I could really trust it to the core.
When I started getting enquires about my experiences at certain places that I had been to, I realised the magnitude and depth of how the application worked. I felt morally obliged to contribute sincerely because I understood how my efforts enabled the effective functioning of the program. Even if it was after a very busy day at work I would make it a point to contribute promptly because I believe even the slightest of information help the program become better. Because I am a person who reap the benefit of the program on a regular basis, I realise the significant of the work of other local guides like me all around the world and its their contributions that make the world a better place. Sometimes it’s not just about the perks or the points you receive, it’s about the impact you have on people’s lives that keep me going and I am pround to be called a a Local Guide and I find only prestige and honour in it.

Being a Local Guide Level 8, I feel I have contributed quite sugnificantly towards the efficiency of the application.
