I was pleased to organize an event in Rajshahi, Bangladesh, focused on Google mapping. The event was a great success, with many people from all over the city coming together to share their experiences and learn more about Google’s mapping tools and services.
The event began with a local guide outlining the community’s motto and goal for the event. Then, several audience members shared their personal experiences with Google Maps. Many people use maps to plan their trips, find restaurants and shops, and explore new places. Others had found Google Maps to be an invaluable tool for finding their way around unfamiliar cities and towns.
Hearing everyone’s start story about local guides reminded me of my start. I was re-inspired. Everyone’s story is different; everyone got involved in volunteering to give back to their respective communities.
We talked about how to use the internet, social media, and other resources to increase the visibility of our local destinations. We also exchanged ideas to make our times more engaging and memorable.
Nahid Hossain is a local guide from Rajshahi, Bangladesh, who has been recognized for his hard work and dedication to helping people connect and build relationships in the community. He has been an active local guide for many years, organizing events, workshops, and conferences to help people learn and grow their technical skills.
He has received the ‘Guiding Star Award’ in the helping hero category and has been an inspiration to other local guides. He has made a difference in many people’s lives and is an ideal example of how one person can make a difference.
After the Guiding Star Even premier, he announced a giveaway of something interesting to 5 top attendees on the event day. I was presented with a t-shirt as a top contributor from Rajshahi.
It was an invaluable opportunity to learn from other experienced local guides and to share our own knowledge and experiences. It was a great chance to network with fellow guides.
