Beautiful Waterfalls in Sikkim

Sikkim is a gorgeous state which lies in the North-East India. “Gangtok” is the capital city of Sikkim and it rests in the gigantic Eastern Himalayan range. Sikkim comprises a lot of enchanting waterfalls with picturesque landscapes. In my opinion, listening to waterfalls is a great remedy to forget the worries in life. Sikkim contains some good number of waterfalls which should not be missed if someone is planning to visit this glorious part of India. The following are some waterfalls which I visited during our stay in Sikkim:

  • Naga Falls: This is a popular waterfall in Sikkim and is considered by many to be the largest and cleanest falls. This is located on the Gangtok-Chungthang road, near Lachung. Trekking is allowed here for interested travelers. The falls is mainly made of rough and rocky mountainous During the monsoon time, the fall is at its best with the turbulent flow of water running down the river.
  • Kyongnosla Waterfall: This beautiful fall is located en route to Nathu La. The roads leading to this fall are rocky and bumpy, but the scenic views offered by this fall are exemplary and should not be missed by any traveler.
  • Bhim Nala Falls: This is situated in Khedum (North Sikkim) and is well known for its length and the three stages in which water runs down from the top of the mountain. There are many tea shops owned by locals near this lovely waterfall.
  • Seven Sisters Waterfall: This waterfall lies on the Lachung Highway. As the name indicates, it is a mixture of seven different waterfalls positioned magnificently side by side on the rocky cliffs. Early monsoon is the best time to visit this place, as it becomes enchanted with its tumbling water dropping from the top of the mountains.
