Beautiful Views

Firstly, my apologies I’m still getting used to this app!

So I’m stuck inside shielding today! I’m chilling watching Netflix but I really wish I was on a beach or in a cave or even on a mountain! I want to see some beautiful places!

I took this picture whilst I was away in Porto a few years ago. I wish I was back there right now!

I had an amazing time on a hen do! I really recommend anyone to visit. It was an amazing, cheap holiday! I had an amazing experience, doing some chocolate and wine tasting, drinking sangria and of course…Partying! I loved trying different foods like the Francesca? If you don’t know, it’s literally their speciality! If you do manage to go, definitely try one!

Can you show me your view at the moment?

Hi @RareEmma ,

Thank you for sharing your beautiful photo with us. Can you tell us a bit more about it? Were you on holiday in Porto? What have you visited more there?

Let me also warm welcome you here on Connect and since you are new allow me to suggest you a read at Your guide to Connect to make yourself comfortable and understand how to best use Connect. You can also take a look at How to tell a story through your photography article, to get inspired to capture more amazing photos and how to tell a story using them.

Happy guiding!

Hi! @RareEmma I remember you from the “Introduce Yourself- February” thread and your introduction left me in stitches :grinning:

I like your writing style. It’s cool, a ‘no stress’ style, it tells your readers to fill in the gap.

This is my view at the moment;

All of these Green is giving me hope for a better tomorrow! Your view is beautiful!

I never heard of a meal called Francesca, what does it look like?

Must I say your view is mind-blowing! @RareEmma

Hey @Ewaade_3A

Thank you. I wish that was my view! Unfortunately it is a view from a hen do that I went on a few years ago.

I like other people to be able to add their own context and bits to my writing :slightly_smiling_face: .

I like your photo, by the looks of the ground it looks very hot and dry. Where abouts are you from? I’m from the UK.

I don’t actually have a picture of a 'Francesca sandwich but it’s basically a meat sandwich covered by melted cheese, a fried egg then surrounded by a thick hot tomato and beer sauce. I thought it was absolutely disgusting! But always great to try new things!

 oh no! You didn’t just do that!

But, why would you do this?! You thought it was disgusting and you want us all to try it?! No way!

Your sense of sarcasm is unmatched, you should**meet Adam @AdamGT **he is one person that gets you poking your brain.

It is indeed very hot, it’s 33°C at the moment! I am from Nigeria and I live in Lagos. @RareEmma

I hope to read more from you.

Just to Add Emma @RareEmma , a very Rare comment I rarely make; :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Have you met @LuigiZ ? He is one of the amazing Connect Moderators we have here, he is a Local Guide like you and me, and has been specially chosen to help moderate our community (think of what a Prefect does, they are not paid yeah, but they get to manage the Student body too). He is from Italy, he is ‘big on food, Photography and travel’, he is dubbed the ‘Selfie King’, he is kind and respectful and loved by many.

Our Moderators try to make our posts conform to the ‘perceived standards’ here by sharing certain elements, that’s what he was trying to do in the comment before mine.

Lmao I definitely did just do that! My friend ordered it and it really did look awful! But I thought, Hey, gotta give it a shot, I stole a bite and …I really wish I hadn’t  :face_vomiting:.

But other people may like it

This tasted much much better!

I actually sent @LuigiZ a private message saying Thank you. I’m new to this platform :grinning: I’m used to Facebook and Instagram but this is definitely a bit different!

P.S. I’m not sure I’d survive in that heat all the time

This should taste much better! I guess it’s why you have a photo of it too! Connect is so different, I find it oddly satisfying. :grinning:

  • I get to read so many beautiful articles daily at no subscription fee.
  • I get to write and have people read from me too without a personal web page or subscription fees too.
  • I get People to respond too without having adverts popping up.
  • I get to learn.
  • I get to have people respect me and my privacy and the Moderators working 24-7 to keep this place safe for us all.

Also, you can always “Report inappropriate content” to get the attention of a Moderator.I think you will enjoy, Connect, Emma. You have a style that less than 0.1% have here. You will express yourself freely and enjoy it.

:grinning: :grinning:

While you may manage to survive in this Heat, Emma, you may not be able to survive “no electricity” and plenty of “mosquitoes”.

This is my view out my window at this time. It’s hot, it’s 28°C now! Awoken by the circumstances, I am going to read myself back to sleep.

However, I have been to Maiduguri, where the temperature can be as high as 41°C during the day! :grinning: My phone Camera doesn’t work there, I get the prompt; “Phone temperature too high, camera may not start” :grinning: yet, people live there. @RareEmma

Thanks @Ewaade_3A .

I always try to be myself and write freely :slightly_smiling_face:

Wow! That sucks! Hope you don’t get bitten too much! I’m awful with mosquitoes! They love my blood too much!

That sounds crazy about your phone getting so hot!

People must have evolved to live there!

Originality endures… @RareEmma

Oh! Stop it :grinning:

So, I thought. Until I saw them, they look just like you and me.

Two ways:

  1. Use a mosquito net
  2. Get Alternative power, we all have our Generators.
  3. The bonus way; get a rechargeable fan

I wonder where you get bitten by mosquitoes though

Thank you very much @Ewaade_3A for the wonderful description, wow you are too good, happy to read your positive words  .

Thanks a lot @RareEmma , you are more than welcome and do not worry at all. Here we like to share our Local Guides experience and as you will see we talk about every kind of argument related to that such as travelling, photography, locations, of course food!!! Whatever you should require don’t hesitate to tag a Google Moderator or a Connect Moderator and we will be more than willing to help you  .

Btw your dessert is so beautiful, it is 18:00 aprox over here and I’m starving looking at that delicious photo!

It’s 18:04 here too. Please enjoy the rest of your evening and thanks for welcoming Emma. It’s difficult to stand out in such a long thread as the “Introduce Yourself”, Emma will be a delight to this community.

Honestly mosquitoes are mean creatures which have never of been born

They attack me everywhere! If I’m on holiday (as luckily there isn’t many in the UK) I can put bug spray on, use repellent, use whatever but nope…That won’t change their plan  they still bite me… bloody blood suckers!

I mean why create a vampire creature!? Was there really such a need?

I think the same about roaches and rats especially rats!! :pensive: so destructive!

I guess they were created, so, some of us Humans can have a source of livelihood.

Do you know how much is spent on Malaria treatment here annually?

Do you know the revenues the repellent companies and pesticides companies generate annually? Or the Rodenticides?

What if these creatures were not there, all of those people will be out of job. @RareEmma
