That is what I like to think about my Google Maps experience.
I was so fortunate during my first trip abroad to see Europe through the eyes of local friends, who I attended an exchange program with. My best memories are the petit restaurant in Paris; the favorite beach in Barcelona, or the amazing pub in Brussels. All of them attended regularly by my friends as part of their normal lives, but I would have never known without them.
This is why I came back home with a different view from Europe. Not only a place full of fantastic historic landmarks but also about how and where people enjoy spending their time and sharing with friends.
Afterwards, I have also been fortunate to host friends at home, and I enjoy sharing experiences with them.
Now I like to rate places I go to and share my opinions with other people, hoping to give back a little kindness I received from my European friends.
Thanks to Google Maps, these places are suddenly available, even though I didn’t know they exist. Or we don’t have a local friend willing to show us around
