Be careful with "Cyclo" - Xích Lô - in Hochiminh City

Recently, there have been many cases regarding cyclo - xích lô - bullying against tourists in Hochiminh City. They have two main tricks: 1/running around to taking more money than usual, and 2/ when customers pay money, they return incomplete change or snatch money in the hands of customers and run. Visitors need to be careful when going window shopping in HCMC by this type. You should not to call cyclo when accidentally seen on the road, should book cyclo services through travel companies. In any case of being mugged or taking money too high, visitors do not hesitate to contact the nearest police. Police have promised to help tourists get their money back.

Hi @PaulPavlinovich ,

I think that @kiet_truong was mentioning about the Cycle rickshaw (also known as cyclo), as it is quite frequently used form of transportation, especially for touristic purposes. : ]

Just out of curiosity, is Cyclo available in Australia by any chance?

Thanks @sonnyNg a similar concept does exist in some cities in the CBD for tourists but they’re not general transport.

Hi everyone

Thanks for the information, as I cannot wait one day to visit Australia, @PaulPavlinovich !

The cyclo rickshaw even though is really pleasant for the tourists to have a different experience when visiting cities, it may seem inconvenient at times, as they are not the speediest mode of transportation and is prone to create traffic jam (unintentionally). Do you think my observations are justified, @kiet_truong ? : ]
