What Local Guides means to me? Local guide and Google Maps enables me to be a local wherever I go. Ever since childhood I have been seeking adventures and trying to discover new places all over the globe. I travel a lot and have even relocated twice on a global scale.
Anywhere I go, Google Maps bridges the gap between scarily unknown and exciting and ready to be discovered.
When posting a review, I feel the commitment to give as much value as I can. I’m not interested to know about OK restaurants and ‘fun’ times at amusement parks, that’s just a given. I like posting the specific dishes that stand out and what to tell the chef in order to make it super tasty. I’ll tell you how you’re going to experience all the attractions in the park and what you may skip for saving you time, or before coming to the show, where to buy the discounted tickets. It’s all about character and personality and that is exactly the message I’m trying to convey.
It’s now become an unwritten rule regardless if I travel with family, friends or connections I make on the spot: I will be the guide for the day
With the places I’ve saved on Google Maps, the simple navigation tools, and the reviews of local restaurants and hidden gems, it is so easy to make your trip quirky and unforgettable.
“Excuse me, do you know where the metro station is? -”Oh, I’m sorry, I’m not a local” - never again!
I have become a go-to source for restaurants, recommendations and experiences amongst my friends and family and I must admit I take this duty with pride.
Finally, I could say that the ability to feel like a local everywhere makes me explore the world with much more confidence and to seek new adventures- it actually opens a new world for me.
As a local guide, I feel like I should be an emissary and spread a variety of options and ways to explore our lovely globe.
