Pertini seafront, it’s not just the name of a place located in south Italy, Pozzuoli (Napoli), it’s a place where a love was born. My love for basketball. It’s not only a story about me, it’s a story about a lot of people, living or not in this place, it’s also a story of this place that met for the first time hip hop music. There’s nothing really better than this, a ring, a playground on the street, the sea in front of it, the sun that heat your skin. Lot of people come here just to have a walk, to eat something in one of many restaurants open on this way. So even if you don’t play basketball, it doesn’t matter. You’re welcome as well, you can just stand here with your face pointed to the sun, listening to the waves impacting the coast, smelling food all around. you can sit at a bar drinking a real coffee or whatever else. I still can remember long time ago (about 25 years ago) I started playing basketball and I was the first crazy guy to park a big speaker connected to my car stereo with a long wire from the car to the speaker and playing hip hop at the feet of the ring. More and more people felt interested in that new sound (it was '90s) arrived in Italy too, the sound of hip hop directly connected to basketball. All of this is Pertini Seafront, well known as Via Napoli in Pozzuoli (everybody know this place like this).
