Barranquilla an experience you must live!

Barranquilla is one of the 5 largest cities in Colombia and celebrates one of the most important events that take place in Colombia generally in the month of February.

This year I decided to live my first experience at the carnival and I want to share with you what this important event in this beautiful city is about.
The city is paralyzed for a little more than 8 days and all its people begin to live a total party atmosphere, throughout the length and breadth of the city there are folkloric events, concerts, parades, dances, costumes, etc., in the midst of much joy, friends, party, drinks and very good food. People from all over the country and from many countries around the world attend Barranquilla, and they are all part of the great celebration of
carnival.

One of the most important events is the battle of flowers; It consists of a parade of floats that can last more than 3 hours in the one with floats with beautiful decorations. Many folk groups are seen dancing and counting throughout the parade.

you find the most beautiful and fascinating costumes with autochthonous and current themes

the entire event is a single party in which musical orchestras, renowned singers participate
workers from the main companies, tourists dancing and enjoying the folklore and the atmosphere of Barranquilla.

At the end of the event I decided to visit a highly recommended site called “Boca de Cenizas”, it was a very beautiful experience because it consists of appreciating the encounter of the ocean with the largest and most abundant river in Colombia, which is called “Magdalena river”, was
an experience full of adventure because you must go by car to a certain point, from then on you must take a transport on rails in the best style of old mining locomotives

then we abandoned the transport on rails and started a walk for about 30 minutes on rocks and on one side you find the majestic ocean but on the other side is the awesome brown freshwater river that brings with it the collected water throughout tour of the Colombian territory

finally you reach the meeting point where these two streams of water meet with fury giving life to a brown color that is baptized like “Cenizas” color
