Baroud Khana, Orchha Fort, Southern part, Orchha, Madhya Pradesh, India.
During my visit to Orchha Fort there are numerous monuments which I come across among them one was Barood Khana which means it was a place where explosives like gun powder etc were stored. This is also a protected monument but not maintained.
It’s situated in the Southern part of the fort and its structure indicates that it was built in the 17th century. It has a square structure and square courtyard which is surrounded by rectangular rooms or chambers. It can be accessed from the Northern chamber and all the rectangular chambers or rooms have vaulted ceilings. Most of the structure is still safe but few are lost.
It was almost deserted and I didn’t see any tourist during my stay at this site. The courtyard was inaccessible due to grass etc.
