I had traveled with my mother through Spain the previous year and we had some wonderful dishes there. Of particular note was the seafood of Barcelona, a vibrant and lively metropolis teeming with fresh ingredients and the flare to prepare them. Having been back in the states for several months, I find my taste buds seeking the Barcelonian flavor again. This past leap day, it seemed as good a time as any to give yourself an excuse for a treat, so I brought my sister and one of her friends to Telefèric Barcelona.
One particular reason I had chosen this location was because they had a branch in Barcelona that seems to be well-received.
Authentic flavors with thoughtful preparation and a delightful selection that makes it difficult to make a mistake when ordering. Two things to note, this was the first time my sister had tried a true paella and prior to this, the closest she had was probably simple rice congee. I was glad that she was able to experience a familiar ingredient seen from a different dimension. Lastly, she was hesitant on my ordering the octopus, but only because her perception of grilled octopus has always been tough and chewy. My only mistake was not letting her cut the octopus herself as she would’ve realized how tender and supple the flesh was from a proper grill. I would highly recommend anyone in the area who yearns for the seaside of Barcelona to stop by for a nostalgic taste.
Until next time Barcelona!
