“Bar level fixed camera” photography technique

Let me share with you some basic photography techniques I use with smartphone camera and it seem to be effective and worth, at least, to try it. I called it the “Bar level fixed camera” photography technique. Its essence is to use available furniture, interior elements for “fixing” you camera. It is especially suitable to use in restaurants when tables and bars give possibility to “look” on the scene from the new angle, table level. Bar, table or other element has to appear in the scene and in this way it involves, engages into the scene and provides a sense of presence. It evolves a picture focusing on close objects but also illustrates background, interior of facilities very well, which is particularly interesting for Google Maps review pictures.

This technique has some other advantages, too: It allows you also reduce camera shake; It allows you to take sharper pictures in the conditions with smartphone camera in limited light conditions when exposition time is longer. It allows to “cover” in one shot closer objects like food, dishes and in the same time give view of interiors, which is exceptionally useful for review purpose that we Local Guides do.

The technique is also well works for combined scene, interior /exterior.

It is usually well works with portray pictures but it work well also with landscape.
