Hi Michael, glad to hear they reinstated your account even though you had to go through a rough time but the ending is nice @user_not_found
I would like to tag @MortenCopenhagen he would be able to share his story with you. To help other local guides avoiding the banning problem he wrote some posts/articles on how to avoid being banned on connect.
Hello from Detroit Michigan
Hi @Erna_LaBeau
Thanks for the tag.
@user_not_found
Congratulations on getting reinstated.
Suspended local guides can find help in my tutorial called How to Get In and Out of Trouble as a Local Guide.
From your post it sounds like you might not be aware of the fact that after suspension is lifted we need to sign up for the LG program again in order to regain access to Connect. And this can take a few days to take effect. Could that explain your issues?
Thanks for sharing your story on this. Not everyone hit with a suspension are lucky to get unsuspended like you. More often than not there are good reasons for suspensions.

Hello fellow LG @user_not_found
Happy to read that you are reinstated - congratulations!
“… no issue with being banned, as long as I’m told why…”
True… It is important to know the reason, so that we can correct ourselves.
Hello to @Erna_LaBeau too…

BTW, your photo is so beautiful. Ireland is one of many places I would like to visit one day!
Congratulations to you for getting back to the platform @user_not_found
I’m sorry about what happened.
Hi @user_not_found
normally an email does go out to people who are removed from the Local Guides program to the google account they used. Email is not a guaranteed delivery method (a bit like post to your home) and sometimes the messages go astray or get eaten by various email protection systems people use.
Looking at your profile I can see what may have been the initial cause, you post a lot of edited photos to Maps. I suggest you check out the Stylistic Adjustments section of the Content Policy https://support.google.com/contributionpolicy/answer/7411351?hl=en&ref_topic=7422769#zippy=%2Cstylistic-adjustments you also post a lot of near duplicate images that are only a few degrees viewpoint from each other. This sort of contribution often gets made private by the AI and human moderators.

Thank you very much for having posted your bad experience. I’m very happy You successfully solved the problem.
Many times people do not understand how much effort and respect a Local guide puts into a review, without the pretense of any reward.
Thank you very much for your advice and contributions, and I hope that you will have no more problems.
Greetings from Napoli .

Hi @user_not_found
am I not here to argue with you. The policy is rather black and white like your photos.
In case you felt the policy was TLDR here are the essentials
- Minimal stylistic edits are allowed - black and white isn’t “minimal”
- Photos must be of the place on Maps they are uploaded to - many of yours are not
- Photos must be relevant to the place - photos of birds, cats, squirrels, etc. are ok if there is one to show you will find them there, there is no need for many
- Photos must reflect your personal experience
I really do recommend you read and understand https://support.google.com/contributionpolicy/answer/7422880 as the AI and humans do review the content. Content that doesn’t meet the policy gets made private over time and can have other consequences as you know.

You can feel that way if you want to @user_not_found
I’m not going to try and stop you, but I do emphasise that we all have to follow the same rules, and you’re using a Google property therefore you do have to follow Google’s rules. What you do from this point is entirely up to you.
