@PaulPavlinovich 's post about skyscrapers reminded me of my trip to Bangkok. My first impression of Bangkok is that that there are so many tall building, a very big city and there are sky trains [BTS, not the musical group but the short words of The Bangkok Mass Transit System]. The skyscrapers are even taller than Wellington, the capital city in New Zealand that I had lived for two years.
What I love most about Bangkok is that we could go up the sky tower just to enjoy the drinks with friends as well as looking at the view of the traffic of the city at night. I don’t even remember of the tall buildings I were on. One of them is the building of Banyan tree hotel which is about 70 floors with the restaurant on open sky upper floor and another one is a building for about 48 floors. Even though they are served as sky bars or sky restaurants, about 52% of tall buildings in Bangkok are actually residential apartment or condos.
Well, according to the research, Bangkok is actually the #1 tallest city in Thailand, #8 tallest city in Asia and surprisingly, stands at #11th the tallest city in the World. The tallest building in Bangkok is Magnolias Waterfront Residences Tower 1 ( which is 315 m tall). In total, there are around 10 buildings that are taller than 150ms and some are still under construction. The one that is tallest is over 400m (436m, under construction: One Bangkok O4H4). They expected to complete it in 2025.
Your post stopped me and bring me to life before Covid when travelling was so much easy as compare today.
Bangkok is like Love for me, my Second home in the world, where I explored hundreds of places by walk, by public buses and by motorbike very easily. Especially skyscrapers of BKk are amazing. But I love more to search natural places in surrounding of Bangkok.
I hope I can travel again (it will be my 9th visit to Thailand, if I can travel )
Thank you for sharing such a wonderful city about Amazing city of Siam.
I have been to the city twice but to Thailand about 5 times to different parts of Thailand (South, Central & North) @TusharSuradkar sone were for holidays and some were on a business trip. Giving the facts that we are very closed to one another, it gave me the advantage to be there. Bangkok is really a big city and very dynamic and vibrant. Lifestyles of people are superior to us, in Phnom Penh. I will write about Phnom Penh later.
Wow, it sounds to me like you know Bangkok like your own palm @KashifMisidia 8 visits are incredible. I assume you came for work, right? I do agree with you. I also love Bangkok for its modern version with sky walk, sky train and so much about shopping. It is one of dream place to be. It is so big, my students knew I was in BKK they asked where I was and said they need 1.5h to get to me from their place.
Nice post @Sophia_Cambodia with beautiful pictures. These reminded me of some good memories and pictures of skyscrapers in Dubai. Thanks for sharing dear sister
Thank you my dear for visiting my post @Zuhralc yep, there are many tall buildings in the city. More importantly, the city itself is so big. I visited many places. I also want to see skyscrapers in Dubai. Some photos about them over the clouds really fasinated me.
Exactly @Sophia_Cambodia , BKk is huge, but if are able to use Sky trains, Local transport especially Motorbikes (we can find motorcycles with rider at almost every area of BKk) so you can travel so fast there, otherwise by car or bus, it takes much time. I mostly visited Bangkok to explore other places of Thailand (for transit) to Phuket, Kohchang, Phetchabhun, Chonburi, and many other cities. And mostly with my family on pleasure trip.
And i m missing Bangkok so much now a days. And I hope soon I can visit my favorite country again.
I see, good for you @KashifMisidia sounds like you have favorite place which is not so far away and you have been to many parts of Thailand. Have you ever crossed to Cambodia or even Vietnam to extend your trip?
You are welcome to visit us anytime, but right now you will be in quarantine for 14days if you come to Cambodia @KashifMisidia major of tourists destinations are opened for visiting. Please let me know if you are coming
Hello @Sophia_Cambodia thanks for again sharing an amazing post with us , these pictures are so beautiful and the building and that road view is so beautiful
