Bangalore 1980 Vs 2019

Bangalore 1982 and now 2019

I moved to bangalore in 1982 . It was such a lovely place and it was pensioners paradise .

There were not much of private companies and it had Govt. owned companies like BEML,HMT,HAL and BEL

It was sleepy town where the city wakes up at 8 am and people had all the time in the world and at the same time there would be no one on the streets after 6 pm. There weren’t much of restaurants ,hospital or markets

MG Road , commercial street and brigade road were places to visit besides Lalbagh garden . There were no fans at home and used thick blankets in the night and mostly people wear mild woolen clothes during the day

In contrast today the Bangalore city is infested with Many 5 star hotels , so many micro brewery best in class hospital , many educational institution and top of it it is IT capital of india . All the leading IT companies be it Google , cognisazt, infosys, intel ,capgemini, HSBC,honeywell Oracle, Sap, etc., and may startups are there every where. City never sleeps and round the clock there is traffic across the city .Now the city has grown and extended and bursting in seams. Thanks to the IT industry .

The Traffic in bangalore is a nightmare as there are more cars than the roads can hold and this is posing danger to lives of people as ambulance themselves finding it difficult to find the way to the hospitals

The city has added metro services , is a boon to citizens and this helps to zip through some parts of the city in unimaginable time considering the traffic woes people had gone through.

The Bangalore airport which has come up is best in its class of traffic and it also over crowded and it is going through expansion expected by 2022.

with this rate of expansion and explosion of population coming in from various parts of india point to pode how the issue of water , traffic and other utility like clearing Garbage and sewer need to be addressed. Failing which the city may find exodus of IT companies to other state in the country
