Some of our flower photos are taken with a Nikon D7200 and some with an iPhone.
For beginning photographers interested in flower photos, my suggestions would be patience, patience, patience.
Flowers may seem like an easy subject, but once you are up close there can be a surprising amount of motion and tricky close-focus decisions to make the most of those petals, leaves and maybe visiting insects! If you’re using an iPhone, don’t get to close to start. Maybe 12 inches or 30 centimetres is a good starting point, then zoom in to let the lens do the work. Start here, check the focus on a couple of trial shots, and you’ll have less distortion.
