Baliati Palace, Manikganj, Bangladesh

Baliati palace is one of the most beautiful heritage site in Bangladesh. Baliati Palace is also known as Baliati Zamindarbari. Baliati Palace is located at the village of Baliati, Shaturia, Manikganj. Gobinda ram saha settler of zamindari at baliati. He was a salt merchant. He ruled over a large area.

There are seven palaces. The palace area occupies around 5.88 acres (23,800 m2) of land, enclosed within a moat and a perimeter wall. There are about 200 rooms inside the premises. At the back of the Palace has a pond

this pond contains four ghat (Landing). Which is so much amazing.

The lofty encircling walls of the Zaminder Bari complex are decorated by three gorgeous gateways, identical in their architectural features. The palace has approximately 200 rooms in various crafted designs, shapes and structures.

Most of the buildings are having a touch of Greek-Roman style, for example the pillars, roof, etc.

You can go there and come back within the same day. So accommodation is not mandatory. I think for a day tour you can choose Baliati Palace. This is an amazing place and also one of the best historical place in Bangladesh.

How to go?(Routes and Fares):

There are several ways to reach at Baliati Palace.

A bus from Gabtoli is available for Dhaka-Saturia route. You can take that one for 60 Taka (Bangladeshi Currency). It will require you around 2 hours to go to Saturia. Or take a bus of Dhaka-Manikganj route from Gabtoli, or Dhaka-Paturia service of BRTC bus from Gulistan. Bus fare is 70 Taka (Bangladeshi Currency). After 1.5 hour get-off from the bus at Kalampur Bus Stand. From there take a bus of Saturia. Bus fare is 20 Taka (Bangladeshi Currency) and would require 20 minutes.

Using a rickshaw for 20 Taka from Saturia bazaar you could easily go to the Baliati Jomidar Bari.
