Hello! I’m new to this and still figuring out how Google Local Guides work but I’m level 7 status and unsure what that means. I’ve posted photos and such but I’m hoping I can have a meet up with Bay Area residents to show me the ropes on the local guides connect as well as collaborate and share content over some delicious food! Anyone else feel the same way? Would love to connect with fellow Local Guides! Thanks so much!

First of all i want to welcome on connect, you was asking about How Google Local Guides work so i want to tell you by giving an example suppose you are on a new place where you don’t know anyone there so at that time you open Google maps and search about hotels/restaurant near by so that time other local guides who had already visited on the places they upload pictures related to that place; so this is a kind of help which you get from other local guides. In the same way you can also upload the pictures and videos on maps for providing help to someone.
Secondly you was asking about the Level, basically levels defines our contributions in form of reviews, photos, 360 views, videos. So if you attain level 7 then it means you contribute a lot on maps, keep sharing on maps.
Thirdly about meet up, you can host meet up by yourself or you can join any meet up in your city, the information of meet up you can get on this forum please check community page on regular basis.

Being a level 7 Local Guides tells me that you enjoy contributing to Google Maps. You don’t reach level 7 in your sleep, so congratulations on that.
Since you’re new to Connect, I suggest you take a look at 14 tips for using Connect, as this will get you off to a great start.
I’m happy to hear you want to meet other Local Guides in your area, and here is the best way to get started. Like @IshantHP_ig mentioned, you can attend or host your own meet-ups from the Meet-ups page.

Hi @Foodiefrotravels chat with Kimberley @KimberlyAnnG as she’s from San Jose and I know is planning on organising a photowalk in May in San Francisco. She does plenty of local San Jose events too.
