Badhyabhoomi’71 Park - Sreemangal

During the 1971 War of Independence, the Pakistani invaders captured freedom fighters from different areas of the Moulvibazar district and killed them here. Before killing them, they were tortured by hanging them from banyan branches. Badhyabhoomi, is a Bangla word that is defined as during the Great War of Liberation, the martyred freedom fighters were brutally killed by Razakar Al Badar and the Pakistani Armies and buried in mass graves in various parts of the country; those mass graves are called Badhyabhoomi in English it is called like slaughterhouses.

It is nowadays a very popular spot for tourists and so many people are visited during holidays although visitors come here every day. Badhyabhoomi’71 is located next to Bhurbhuria Rham, adjacent to Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Sector Headquarters.

There is a canteen which is controlled by BGB. You can find there various kinds of Coloring Tea, drinks and snacks at reasonable prices.
