Bad local guides

@RadieN

I would like to report a “local guide” in my area.

It seems as though the user is targeting local business with perfect 5 star ratings. We operate a small transportation service in Flint, MI 48503. Yesterday we noticed a 4 star review with no feedback. Rather than engage the person, i decided to take this route to hopefully get him or her removed from the platform. This person is using the name [Redacted] and here is a link to his content. [Redacted]

This person has never been a customer and we suspect it’s a competitor who is abusing the Plus Codes.

Hello @LimoServiceFlint and welcome to Connect!

Thank you for reaching out. I will send you a private message with instructions on how to report this specific user so our team can look into this person’s account and take any appropriate action.

Please note that I have removed the link to this Local Guide’s profile. We ask that you do not share any information publicly about the person you think may be violating our policies as we respect everyone’s privacy. Please take a moment to review our community policy..

I’d also like to inform you that participating in the Local Guides program as brand, organisation, or business, and is a violation of our program rules, as it’s important Local Guides contribute content as unbiased individuals. If you’d like to continue in the program, we ask that you change your account name to participate in the program as an individual or we will remove you from the program.

Since the post you’ve shared is not an idea, I’m going to move it to the How-tos section. Keep in mind that Idea Exchange is a place on Connect for Local Guides to share their feedback and ideas with our team to tell us about a way to improve the Local Guides program. To learn more about Idea Exchange, I would recommend you to read this article How do I use the Idea Exchange?. You can also take a look at What are the Connect topics? where you will find more information about the different sections of Connect.
