I am so heart broken at the events in Pairs, with the burning down of the Notre-Dame Cathedral, so much history, so much lost but small miracles as the art work was saved. That got me thinking what other building holds people hearts so much like Notre-Dame, in Canada we have some building but few hold the hearts of the people quite the same. When I was in Istanbul, they clearly hold the Aya Sofya in the same regard. And yes it too is amazing, and the huge hall inside, nothing compares. I born in the 20th century was still awe struck at the sheer size of the building and the hall inside. It’s a must see for anyone in their lifetime…
