Back in June 2019, @HiroyukiTakisawa invited local guides to join his first #monthlytopic. Since then, every month, he picks a different theme and involves the Local Guides Community to create fabulous entries in several languages
To celebrate every Local Guide who took part in those challenges in 2020, improving the Local Guides Connect post’s quality, we chose three excellent posts to represent our community’s diversity.
Congratulate the winners, who were announced during the Close Ceremony of #ComunityLive2020.
It was the most beautiful post we read in 2020. Part of #MonthlyTopicof April 2020 - Your hobby, the post describes why traveling is a hobby, provides useful links to Google Maps and shares awesome photos.I fully agree with the Connect Moderator, @PennyChristie , who said to the winner: “Your post was so beautiful andtransported me straight to the German Alps through your words and photos.”
April regarded us also the most memorable post in 2020. He told us about a new hobby he has been learning how to play the guitar, virtually, “through the help of a friend and a brother Guitarist Jakes.” “Your post about all of the different hobbies you learnt during the lockdown in this crazy year made us all appreciate how lucky we indeed are. And we especially can’t wait to hear you sing and play the guitar again very soon,” said Penny.
The most impressive post of 2020 comes from #monthlytopic of August 2020 - A tree in your neighborhood. Sophia astonished us with some giant trees in Cambodia, especially those grown on ancient temples. Read her text and check the magnitude of the trees in a well-detailed post. “Wow! I have never seen a tree literally growing over a temple. This is something I’m sure everyone would love to see in person one day. So thank you for sharing this very impressive natural wonder.”, mentioned Penny.
P.S: All collages were made by our awesome Connect Moderator @AdrianLunsong using the authors’ photos. A special thanks to Penny, who so well presented the winners during the close ceremony. And, of course, many thanks to Hiro, who always inspires us to write these amazing posts.
@HiroyukiTakisawa ’s Monthly Challenge was so much fun to look through and presenting the winners at the #CommunityLive2020 Closing Ceremony was awesome. Thank you for the recap @AlexandreCampbell

I never imagined sharing my Lockdown newly found hobby will actually make an impact during the monthly topic of April. Thank you so much @HiroyukiTakisawa for this monthly topic initiative, it has really been an amazing experience for me on connect even though I am busy to participate in all months topics. I have actually found it interesting reading all monthly topic posts by my fellow Local guides.
Thank you @PennyChristie for selecting my monthly topic posts as one of the top post, I could have never imagined it had an impact, I was just playing around when I asked my tutor that I need to write my lesson on connect on which he Okayed to make a private video for the post. Actually I am still an amateur till now.
Thanks @AdrianLunsong for the awesome collage. This is actually impressive.
