No, there is not only one. One is there to lure you in at any place you’re visiting.
Last week I was visiting Porto, Portugal.
Being there for the first time I’ve used Google maps for everything, from getting navigation instructions to choose the places I would visit.
One of them was Casa da Musica.
Having limited time in my hands and really having to take a decision between taking the tour there or visiting the most popular museum in the whole of Portugal, Google Locals contributions helped me take a decision with confidence.
Why is that, one might ask.
For starters, being able to filter out the most recent reviews and photos of both places and then contrast them with the most popular ones.
This collective knowledge pool made quite the difference for someone traveling solo and wanting to make the most of their time.
Evaluating a place and sharing tips and photos about it, enables the collective knowledge to grow and people to take better, informed decisions.
Ranging from accessibility features to worth your while attractions, everything in between; from time or money-saving tips, best routes to follow and a new exhibition opening.
This drives me, a curious person by nature, to aspire to share more insider’s information where possible and thus being a more helpful human being.
