Aurora Australis was recently visible from the Christchurch Port Hills these are a picture and Time Lapse taken during the night.

The Aurora is quite magical @StephenNewZealand - nice capture. I’ve never seen it bright in the sky. Well done thanks for sharing.

Thanks, it was taken using a long exposure to get the pictures on the camera, so it is brighter than what we see when looking.

Gorgeous picture. I was just telling my big sister whose in town for visit, that i want to go to Tassie (Tasmania) to see the Southern Lights. She had no idea that Australia & obviously NZ too had our own version of the Northern Lights.
