Attending 11th WEEC (World Environmental Education Congress)

This event is themed WEEC (World Environmental Education Congress) which is held every 3 years. This event is a routine agenda where all environmental care actors from 100 countries meet.

WEEC Congress is an opportunity to learn more about the latest environmental and sustainability education, to discuss with people from all over the world, to present and to learn and discuss from others.

The Congress is a real international meeting point for anyone with an interest in or working with education for the environment and sustainable development. The congress was held for 3 (three) consecutive days, start on 14,15,16 march 2022,attended by several actors who care about the environment from several countries.

Here, our activities at Kedai Rupa Duta to watch and discuss together, about 14 communities attending.

First day :

Second Day

10.00 (Early Childhood Education (Foundation of ESD) What can we don’t forget the sake of future generation (Turkey) What I learned about Australia’s Initial Early Childhood Teacher Education for Sustainability (Australia)

Day three (3)

This is what we have been waiting for because from our country, :indonesia: Indonesia.
The presentation is presented by Mrs Maria Mumpuni Purnoningrum with the theme: Connecting Local Initiatives to global Goals (coloni). She explained several program targets:

  • Raise the story of change at local level through connecting into SDGS targets.

  • Bridging the perspective of Government and CSO on Local level through certain approach based on SCO point of view.

09.15 : Rethinking Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) for local Communities During the Covid 19 ( Fumiko Noguchi)
09.30 : Enacting Biodiversity Education and transform mative learning with communities, lessons and action. (Philip Vaughter)

From some of these presentations, it can be concluded that when we talk about the environment, especially environmental schools, the topic can be broadened and can be linked with other fields or with some issues that are currently rife.

At the end of the event, after listening to all the presentations, we discussed and asked for more information about WEEC activities in Indonesia, Mrs. Maria explained that while in Indonesia, she had held several activities in Kalimantan and Papua, all of which were written in

Pengalaman yang keren dan seru banget bisa belajar bareng dari WEEC tentang up date informasi di seluruh manca negara dj dunia dan bagaimana kita lebih bijak dalam menjaga kelestarian lingkungan. Serta perlu kerjasama semua pihak termasuk pihak perguruan tinggi. Tanggung jawab terhadap lingkungan di mulai dari diri sendiri.

Such an amazing congress forum that you’ve posted. It said one of the communities is students of State University of Malang, how did I didn’t know about this agenda :laughing: . Hopefully from that forum we could understood about environmental sustainability and aligned with college’stri dharma agenda.

that’s true revelation @wahyu_pratamabwi @ sorry for the limited number of invitees, indeed students should be involved in this event, because most of the presentations were from students. I hope there will be another event like this

It seems very interesting, to be able to follow the environmental congress between countries. There must be a lot of interesting things being discussed related to environmental issues that are currently rife. Feel free to invite them to our meet-ups and share what’s new. Hopefully we can hold a movement together, voluntarily, for a better environment
