It’s always better to be late then never
It’s been a few days since I attended this unique virtual 1st Indo-Pak Meetup between Local Guides community of India and Pakistan
Since then I was trying to spare a few minutes to write-up the recap and give some gratitude to the organizers @AmbrishVarshney and @KashifMisidia
Why Virtual Meetup: World is under lock down and self isolation due to COVID-19 breakout, so it was a great initiative to avail the benefit of technology and get in touch through a virtual meetup. Advantage is everyone can join despite of limitation of borders and traveling.
Hosts: @AmbrishVarshney was hosting it from Indian side while @KashifMisidia co-hosted from Pakistan side. When received invitation from @KashifMisidia in our Whatsapp group, the idea was so nice that I committed to attend and it turned out to be a good decision
There were 50+ Local Guides in the meetup from across and
and everyone was so exited to know about each other. Before everyone joined the conference call, there were some general discussion about how life is going on during lock down and self isolation. Surprisingly, Indian community were curious to know about food specialties of major cities of Pakistan, whereas Pakistanis were excited to know about traditional food of Indian region.
A few popular Local Guides among others were:
@TravellerG, @StephenAbraham, @NareshDarji, @khawajamazhar, @Tejal,
@Muhammad_Usman, @MSulaiman,@azharmasood786
@jehanzebkayani, @Lovenish_Gaur Karthik Jaganathan, Natish Bhatt, Aslam Mohammad,
Special credits to attendees who took screenshots and shared with us
@thehmsofficial @KashifMisidia @MSulaiman and others
Last but not the least, thanks to our honorable female attendees @NitaBC @Tejal , Shahida Qaiser and Rasheeka Sharma
Take Away of Meetup: Indian and Pakistani community has a long term relationship and share a lot of things regarding their languages, culture, food and generations old link to places across borders. There were discussion regarding having a physical meetup once the lock-down is over, one idea was to have meetup at Kartarpur Sahib where Indian and Pakistanis can meet without Visa restrictions.
India has already hosted Asia-One meetup and it was also discussed to have another similar event probably at Nepal because it is easier for both nations to get visa and visit there.
Sorry, if I couldn’t tag and mention everyone but you all are special to me and I wish to meet you again soon.
Stay home and Stay safe!
