Hello @JudyD
Glad I found your post for I have always been super fascinating about Alaska and it’s extreme weather conditions.
How long does the winter last? How do you manage everyday activities in stormy weather?
Hello Reema,
It’s not as bad as it looks . Winter in Alaska varies depends on location/region. We had a storm yesterday while I was at the nail shop getting a pedicure, yes, a pedicure during this type of condition.
Life goes on in the winter. People are out and about…
In Anchorage during the winter months, which is like three months, we do get some winter storm.
We have 6 hours of sunlight here in Anchorage. But in places like, The north slope, in the arctic, we have total darkness for two months during winter time.
Spring, Fall, and especially Summer are my favorite seasons in Alaska. Some cities like Fairbanks get as hot as 90 degrees farenheit.
Alaska is very unique and beautiful. In the winter months, folks go skiing, ice fishing, hiking…for me I like the outdoors more when there’s less ice on the ground.
I have more pics of Alaska and videos on the map and my Instagram; feel free to check them out.
I will start being more active on this platform as well. I will definitely share as much as I can
