I have noticed a duplicate entry for a place that already exists. However, the duplicate entry has more reviews and photos compared to the original one.
Could anyone please guide me on how to remove the duplicate entry, while ensuring that the reviews and photos from the duplicate are not lost (if such an option is possible)? Any advice or steps to follow would be greatly appreciated.
Thiruvalla Railway Station being “Railroad Company” itself is wrong categorisation. So how can we report and remove it? Regarding photos, it could have been added to the original place too, but someone created another place with same name and different category to farm points, which is highly unethical. The spam filter should have found it out and removed it, but now it’s rejecting my requests for its removal.
This is a very common problem. And I have to admit that this problem is beyond us to fix.
The station with live train info is managed by the railroad company or the authorities. And the other one is added by someone who did not know better. Probably because he/she wanted to add photos or reviews.

Places can not be merged if the categories are not the same. And we volunteers can not select the station category, so we will never be successful in merging to places where one is on the base layer and the other is a normal pin
If this really bothers you, please seek help on this in the Maps support forum.
Hit the Community tab at the top and make a post. You need to share both Maps links and explain what needs to happen
But even this is not easy. I decided that such issues is not worth my time. If you start looking this is a problem affecting an enormous number of stations. We can’t fix everything.
Ans) Suggest an Edit - Close or Remove - Offensive, harmful or misleading or you can send product feedback , most probably you will get denial because system is thinking how could 5700+ persons be wrong or due to some pending edits. There are many spam railway stations which have 100000+ reviews. Map is full of spam, don’t think about only railway stations. Problem is only that Engineering Team is not interested in fixing issues/spams
These days every Railway Station/Bus Stands, which are under correct category are chanting:
“रामचन्द्र कह गए सिया से ऐसा कलयुग आएगा, हंस चुगेगा दाना दुनका और कौवा मोती खाएगा”Raamchandra keh gaye siyaa se aaisa kalyug aaye ga hans chugega daana dunka, kawwa moti khaayega.
It would be very helpful if you would always use the tagging tool when replying to someone here on Connect. Type @ followed by the username. Type slowly. Then we get an e-mail notification and you are more likely to get a prompt reply. Just hitting Reply does not ensure we get notified by email.

If you think the system should overwrite the information in thousands of reviews because you think it is a mistake, you are in for an unpleasant surprise.
This is not a new issue and the notion that the engineering team is uninterested is your guess, just like my guess is:
Until Google Maps management decides to get this fixed or provide new tools enabling us the volunteers to fix these issues it is not worth getting upset over.
Try fixing these issues via the Maps Support Forum and send in-app feedback. Those are currently our options.

I am not saying you are wrong, just difference of experiences
