Assam Traditional Thali

Hi Local Guides

I’m a frequent traveler especially I do traveling towards North-East of India.

The best part of this place like Guwahati if you are facing too much heat from the sun then in the afternoon you can go towards the mountains as mountains are only 6 km away from the mainland of Guwahati.

Towards the mountain area, you will feel the big difference in temperature.

This kind of dramatic change makes this place special.

At the time of lunch, you will get a very similar Thali as a meal in any kind of food court or in a restaurant.

My meals contain Rice, 2 kinds of dal, curd, vegetables, beans, brinjal pakora, sweet rice, and beans.

Below I’m sharing an image of my meal and I took this photo from the top so that I can show you the stuff in the bowels.

How many of you tasted this Thali?

Anyone from Assam?

Cheers

I haven’t tried Thali before, @RohitGahlot , but I wish that I did. Everything looks incredible and absolutely delicious. Oh and by the way, nice shot of the plate. The colours are really great. :wink:

@KlaudiyaG colors are looking good because the special plate is used to serve food.

The copper plate is used to serve food as some people says that eating in copper vessels helps us to fight against many gastrointestinal diseases.

Oh wow, it’s the first time that hear such a thing. Thank you so much for sharing this interesting fact with the community, @RohitGahlot . I’ll keep this in mind. :wink:

Your Thali meal looks interesting and well presented @RohitGahlot . I think the closest I’ve come to anything that “might” be like Thalis is Dal Bhat

@AdamGT

Dal Bhat means Dal and Rice.

In bihar Dal Bhat is a daily lunch meal, the majority of Bihar state people eat this meal.
