Ask the business owner for permission when uploading information.

I don’t want to be a local guide. I registered here just to let you guys know my opinion. I am a small business owner I hate all of you local guides who list my business on Google. Because I’m a small business, I’m always short of time. You have to do it all by yourself. I think there are many problems with Google reviews and I reject them. Google reviews are a disaster for small business owners. Because reviews only post dissatisfied people with terribly cruelty. Most satisfied customers rarely post reviews. Service satisfaction varies from person to person. However, it is because Google Review is the stage where dissatisfied reviewers who satisfy their desire for revenge are too active, expanding and writing small reasons as if they were big problems for reasons that do not live up to individual emotions and expectations. This is because Google Local Guides create a space for these reviewers to work. Have you ever asked the business owner for permission even once? If the business owner doesn’t want to be listed on Google…you don’t know that posting information without permission can have disastrous consequences. If you do business wrong and customer dissatisfaction builds up, the business will eventually close. However, if a review of hate is written with the information you posted, the business will be closed without getting the time and method to improve the problem. Because of more advantages and what more people don’t see as a problem.
Please, when uploading information to Google, please obtain permission from the business owner or related person.

I’m a small business, so time is always short.
I have to do everything in the store by myself.
My business is located in a shopping mall. The shopping mall requires that it be open 365 days a year, with only a day off on Christmas Day.
I open, close, cook, organize and clean up the store every day, 365 days a year.
I don’t have time to rest. So I can’t always open Google reviews, and I run my business through Google reviews, such as posting replies to all Google reviews or talking to them, listening to and accepting customers’ opinions, and persuading angry customers. Can not.
Recently, someone uploaded my business to Google without my permission. Then, one star, two reviews were written. I didn’t know. However, after looking at Google reviews in front of my store for a few days these days, I saw young customers going elsewhere. Then my friend informed me that there was a complaint about my review. I checked the review, and the first review pointed out the facts and raised a problem, so I withdrew the complaint review. The second time, there was no contact, no response at all.
I have asked Google to delete my business information several times, but they have replied that it is difficult to delete it, citing their special reasons. They asked me to use my time, saying that if I asked to delete the business, it would be deleted in a few days or weeks. I asked them to delete my business immediately if it was exposed that my business was closed even for a few days, but they said no. I just resent who and why gave Google a weapon that threatened my business.
I think there are many problems with Google reviews and I reject them.
Google reviews are a disaster for small business owners. Because most reviews end up with a text that only dissatisfied people post content in a terribly cruel way and induce other unspecified people not to use the business.
Most satisfied customers, with few exceptions, do not post reviews. Service satisfaction varies from person to person. However, it is because Google Review is the stage where too many dissatisfied reviewers who fulfill their desire for retaliation, expanding small reasons as if they were big problems, because they did not live up to their personal feelings and expectations.
Most of the negative reviewers seem to be more picky than the general public, or have unique personal tastes, or there are many people who want to show off their power through negative reviews.
Of course, it’s normal, and I’m well aware that there aren’t various situations and reasonable reviewers. Anyway, it is Google Review that creates a space for these reviewers to work.
The Google Local Guide, which uploaded my business information that these Google reviewers can dance to, has never been allowed to upload by me. If they ask me for permission to upload, I say no, of course.
I think Google reviews are very influential. Therefore, Google reviews, which have such a great influence, say that it is good for customers to share information, but it should be operated after a filtering system is in place to post only reviews with restrained emotions, and limited so as not to affect the operation and existence of the business by limiting the abuse of it. think.
For example, customer opinions must first be conveyed only to the business owner for improvement and consultation, and then, when improvement is not made or when the business owner’s intentional fraud or negative influence on society is confirmed, it should be modified in such a way that it is exposed to the general public. will be.
However, Google makes it exposed first without such a filtering device, and then goes through a very complicated and time-consuming process of modifying and deleting it afterwards. Small business owners who can’t spend that time and effort can’t afford to go through it.
Even if it’s not Google reviews that are mixed with customers’ dissatisfaction, if the business goes wrong and customer dissatisfaction accumulates, the business will eventually be closed. That’s why all business managers always listen to customers’ opinions, but if reviews become a stage for customer revenge that contains personal feelings and subjective opinions that are not objectified, it is wrong. In addition, Google’s policy of using it to get the attention of the majority and operate it as a business is wrong.
When hate reviews are written, local small businesses, unlike large corporations, do not get the time and means to improve their problems, and are closed. Although local small businesses have more advantages than problems that appear in some retaliatory reviews, and contributions such as employment of local residents and youth and local convenience services, small business operators have less customers due to the impact of bad reviews, so if sales decrease, rent and labor costs are reduced. This is because there is no financial leeway to sustain a short period of time due to expenses such as material costs.
Please get rid of Google Reviews and implement improved measures.

Hi @REDBEAR30000

I will not enter in details related to bad or good contents shared by the Local Guides in a Google Business Profile, but for personal experience I know that, if the business is not under attacks or the business not is asking for fake reviews, the reviews are giving a clear image on how the business is.

In any case, as you said that you are not a local guide, i would lie to ask you to leave the program.

This is against the Local Guides Program Terms and Conditions : “Organizations, brands, and businesses are not eligible for the Program.

Thanks

Good morning, RedBear30000,

First, let me say that it is very smart for you to create an account on the very forum that you are attempting to complain about in order to speak to those that may do you harm. I applaud your attempt, however I believe that your energy could be much better used. Second, I am nowhere near your restaurant (so I would not be able to review it). Third, and the primary reason for my response, is that you have the power to turn the image created by those reviews around. The same people that read negative reviews will read the tactfully written responses to them. You can always diffuse any negative situation by being gracious for their feedback and welcoming the customer to come back after you have corrected whatever impacted their review. The potential customers will see a business owner that is willing to stand up for their product and correct what the customer perceived as wrong. It is not a sign of weakness to accept that a mistake may have been made. The only sign of weakness is blaming the institution that provides the opportunity for an opinion to be posted. (Please note, I am speaking in generalities. I have no knowledge of the content of the post that you are referring to. I am assuming that the review had to do with either cleanliness, taste, or service. If the review was more personal in nature, I apologize 100%.)

I do hope that you take this response as the true concern in which it was offered. Have a great day!

I take a lot of comfort in your writing.
That was really wise and appreciated advice.
The problem is that we don’t have much time right now.
I’ve been in the red for the past 5 years. The shopping mall I belong to is getting more and more difficult due to long-term construction, pandemic, and closure of other businesses. So all the employees quit and I keep the business alone.
Also, these are very difficult times. A one-person small business owner cannot afford it. Financing with loans has also become more difficult. It is natural that each guest is precious. However, after Pandemic, the influence of Google Review has grown. Young people make quick decisions with Google reviews.
The taste of food and service are always the subject of bad reviews. They dissect the taste of food and service to cover false reviews.
I highly value the courtesy and reasonable encounters of both business owners and customers. I want to give my customers the best in my products and services. However, many guests feel rude, and I turn down rude guests. This is why I hate google reviews. Of the two reviews that were rejected, I confirmed that one was a false review and politely asked the person who wrote the review to delete it, and I deleted it. The second review is not deleted at all even though it is false. Of course, the third person says: Report false to Google and request deletion. The more reviews you get, the more sincere your service will be. But I don’t have that much money in my bank account. I might go out of business before that happens. Those times are now hellish hours…until then I can’t continue to spend. I have to spend my time on just two false reviews. While paying the expensive rent written in the contract tomorrow…

@REDBEAR30000

You are spending your efforts on the wrong forum.

Business owners have their own help pages and forum.

Here is the GBP help center and you find the GBP forum here.

There you could ask for tips on how to remove your listing on Google Maps. And maybe there is a way to block your business from being added again and again.

Asking 150 million volunteers to not keep adding your business to Google Maps will never fly. We are simple just too many Local Guides who wants to be helpful to Maps users.

You may try to explain to Google that you would prefer not to be on Maps and Google Search. There are simply many Local Guides so your request can be heard.

Thanks for sharing your points of view. It is not something that I have heard before.

Cheers

Hi @REDBEAR30000 ,

Thank you for reaching out. As @MortenCopenhagen wrote in the comment above for anything related to your business you can reach out to the Google Business Profile help center and forum here.

As @ErmesT mentioned, you are participating as a business owner and this is against our program rules. Please make sure to exit the program with this account.

Please note that I moved your post to How-tos, since it is not related to the board you published it.
