When my family and I arrived in Omaha in the state of Nebraska in 2012, I could not imagine that in the center of the Americas, where the nearest ocean coast needed to fly 5 hours, such a huge assortment of fish and seafood was possible.
Notice, I came from Moscow (Russia), where it is quite difficult to surprise with something.
But such abundance just shook us. Almost 90% of which was displayed in the window I have never seen or tried.
In fact, this store is very large. In addition to the fish department, you can buy meat and meat products, a large selection of vegetables (by the way, the prices of fresh dill and greens are the best in the city), a large department of frozen convenience foods, a department of canned products.
There is even a department where you can order sushi for «to go».
The store has a department of alcohol where you can buy various exotic alcohol: various types of Japanese Sake and plum wine, Chinese vodka and «Tsingdao» beer, and much more.
Here you can buy ANY spices, seasonings, sauces, etc. that can only exist.
There is a department with sweets, where you can find a variety of exotic sweets from Asia and the Middle East. There is a huge department where you can buy a variety of Asian dishes and appliances for food and cooking.
In short, this store is a godsend for those who love to cook at home or is professionally cooking.
The best shopping day is Thursday. It is on this day that fresh fish is delivered.
We try to come before the closing of the store. Unfortunately, it closes at 8 pm.
The fish you have chosen is gutted, cleaned of scales, then washed with running water and, if necessary, cut into pieces as you need.
All you need is to come home, sprinkle fish with spices, pour over fish sauce, put foil and put in the oven for 20-25 minutes. And you will have a delicious and fresh fish dish of a restaurant level ready.
