It was an awesome experience on the 8th of February as Local guides in Asaba trooped out to exchange ideas, sharpen skills and make Asaba more visible. It is truly my first time to organise a Local Guides Meetup.
Our activities included a training session by for a better understanding of what is required of a Local Guider and the benefits therein; we also had time for questions on the “how to’s” of local guiding i.e. how to add a missing place, how to add a missing road, how to correct the information of a place, the necessity of pictures and videos, how to become a local guide, etc and it was all fun.
At the end of the meeting session, we had to take to the street where we proved ourselves as worthy Local Guides (Hahaha).
We had about 15 persons in attendance and our joy knew no bounds as one of us in one day became a level 5 Local guider, also someone entered level 6 and so on.
I can’t wait for the next meet-up as we together make Asaba, Delta State the next stop for google video mapping.
