Hey i have seen some body from some days they added there personal house into google maps it’s can allowed to add the location of there personal as a local guide can we have any choice to warn him (not warn but by explain) can local guides have this permission? Are we can remove it as “Permanently Closed” without asking the house keepen person (who added in Google map that person) permission
This kind places are not allowed in Google Maps because they are not public places, as simple as that. If you find a location of this type you must remove it from the map using the option “It’s not open to the public”.
You don´t ask permission to anybody because you can´t reach to any local guide through the app and obviously it´s no needed you go to the place to search for the person who add the place to the map. You just apply the rule and that´s it.
Have a nice day!
Hi @Rakshi2 ,
Thanks for reaching out.
Please follow the great advice given by @LightRich .
By the way, I will change the topic of your post to How-tos to keep Connect organized. This is the place where you can ask questions, share tips and feedback about Connect and the Local Guides program.
Hi @LightRich
I was once informed that the “Not open to the public” option is meant for businesses that do not accept guests at the address, but they do exist. So we should use the “Does not exist here” or the “Spam” option to remove private homes from the database. If in any doubt that there is a business there we should use the “Closed permanently” option because this can be undone. Places removed with “Does not exist here” and “Spam” are gone for good.
Cheers
