Local guides (LGs) are indeed an extension of the Google search engine in more ways than one, especially for the fact that they help sanitize the location-based search and mapping.
Their helpful reviews, comments and edits do the community a world of good.
Before becoming a Level 5 Local Guide, I had benefited severally from reviews ( positive and negative ) off
more experienced guides at the time.
Armed with very useful information, I was able to make informed decisions on products and services to buy.
LGs’ consistency and commitment to map-guiding customers, tourists, revellers, information seekers and the resources with which they sacrifice to review business information and make necessary and timely edits to very important business details such as an address, accessibility and quality of service rendered by vendors in real-time, are indeed invaluable, to say the least.
I think as Guides, we deserve all the discretionary Google perks we receive as a result of the non-for-profit and voluntary contributions we have been making for the past 5 years.
If you are yet to be handed a flower as an LG, I will definitely send some your way for the good job done you have done so far in the best interest of buyers, sellers, travellers, advertisers and general information seekers. Nice job guys - keep pushing as you up the ante in your contributions.
I am eyeing Level 7 though, what about you?
To more impactful contributions ahead, I say cheers!
Love from Tolulope Olulana,
