“When ’ New Year 2020 ’ start, I was seated with a gentlemen” who is a fellow of the East India Railway. Named Mithun Bose, a small officer in the railway. His home is in Karimganj district, at the very end of Assam province. The gentleman’s words indicate that his residence is on the border of Sylhet a Bangladeshi City. He can speak the Sylhety language exactly.
Last week I attended an Science Seminar at University of Dhaka and received an Invitational Mail from the South Asian Environmental Conference. I thought I would immigrate to Kolkata by the border near my house. Just as I think, 3 pm I do that, but the immigration experience in Manakachar Port is one of the most important experiences of my life. Which is a rare occurrence in an immigration system in any country in the world. No computerised system, Soaked the entire palate with black ink and let me print dozens of paper prints! You don’t even have to look at all the papers. There is madness in the mood.
Later, at 5:30 pm, I left for the night Super ( Like the local bus ) from Manakachar to Guwahati. I arrived at seven in the morning at the central Assam Rail Station which is GUWAHATI RAIL STATION.
From here, the train will go to Kolkata. But the train ticket was not available in the morning. I was foreigner so I can buy a sleeping seat ticket for the ‘Kanchanjungha Express’ at 10:30 pm the same day. With no work all day, I headed to Shillong, the capital of Meghalaya. When I arrived in Shillong, I was felt with cold. What a strange place, in April months winter is steel here ! Shillong is called Eastern Scotland. This is a well-guarded city. I suddenly felt like I had come to a small town in Korea. ( I was lived South Korea for 4 years ). women dress, whiskey shops, bars are like any western city. Unfortunately my phone was not charged and power off. So I couldn’t capture many beautiful scenerys pictures. later in the afternoon, I arrived in Guwahati Train Station by a private car (like a taxi service) in Hyundai Brand and left for Kolkata by train at night. Journey was 24 hours at the end of the night. Arrived at Collington, Marquis Street, Kolkata. By that time, the day of the New Years is over. Although I have not received this day, all those who have received the day, delayed wishes of all. Happy New Year 2020, bring happiness to everyone’s life.
