ARGENTINA, CHILE AND PERU IN THE CENTER OF BOGOTÁ

In the center of Bogotá there is a sculpture in honor of José de San Martín who was a Rioplate military and politician who stood out as a liberator from Argentina, Chile and Peru, born on February 25, 1778, in Viceroyalty of the Río de la Plata , who fought in North Africa, and also fought against the Napoleonic domination of Spain, then at 34 he returns to Buenos Aires, where he placed himself at the service of the independence of the United Provinces of the Río de la Plata, then was named Governor of Cuyo, based in the city of Mendoza and there and proceeded to lead the liberation of Chile, in the battles of Chacabuco and Maipú, then attacked the center of Spanish power in South America, and in the city of Lima declared the independence of Peru in 1821 and in 1822 yielded its army after finishing the liberation of Peru. In Argentina he is known as the liberator, father of the homeland, in Peru he is considered the founder of Liberty and the Republic, and the Chilean army calls him the captain general. He was a ruling leader and that is why he has been recognized throughout the years giving value and strength to the contributions he has had in the different countries, his remains rest in the mausoleum of the Basilica of San Francisco, Mendoza, Argentina, and Just as in Chile, France, Spain, Argentina, Peru, they have monuments in their honor, Colombia has not been the exception, because we found in the center of Bogotá a bronze-cast sculpture, by José de San Martin created by Joseph Louis Daumas who He was a sculptor, a Frenchman who brought part of the history of our neighboring countries to Colombia through art in 1941. What I like most is to see the culture of other countries reflected in mine and to know that recognitions are made to such important people, that they really make the events a massive and fundamental construction in the world. I would love to know the sculptures of the character in the other territories, for now I share something of what you can see and live here in Bogotá through photography and history immersed in Colombia, from other countries.

Once again I enjoyed reading your post @NicolasVillamorG . As you are aware, there are many statues, parks, plazas and even Departments named after the national hero, El Libertador, José de San Martín.

@AdamGT It’s good that you enjoy this kind of content, and yes, there are quite a few references to the liberator, and many others, and I see that there are quite a few beautiful things to show to the entire community of local guides, which I hope to achieve. Many greetings from Bogotá
