Hello, please guide us in regard for updating the area in google map. as there is no option for updating an area.

Regarding your inquiry, would you mind sharing some information about the place? A screenshot as well as Google Maps links to the location would be really handy.

For the moment, I have relocated the post to How-tos, as it would be much more convenient.

@sonnyNg There is no provision for polygon creation in the google map. hence as a local guide we could not able to add or correct the area. as the marked area called as Shankar Nagar but the google map is not updated it.

Thanks for the additional information.

Follow up to that, currently Local Guides may proceed to report that specific irregularity that they may find, as in this case regarding a polygon/area. It is also important to be noted that editing directly is yet to be possible.

We totally understand your endeavor, as to help the Google Map’s information to be correct.

Just as a note, there are certain items in Google Maps that solely Google may edit and provide updates.

As long as the provided suggestions are correct and thorough, the higher chance for the update to be put in the right order.
