We’re looking for Dallas Local Guides Level 6+ to speak at a launch event for a new Google community for business owners. If you love supporting small businesses in your city, and will be in Dallas in early November 2017, we would love to hear from you.
To be considered, please create a one-minute video where you introduce yourself and tell us what you love to share on Google Maps: restaurants, shops, landmarks, or anything else in Dallas.
Your video doesn’t need to look professional. We want to hear about your passion for making local discoveries and sharing your knowledge.
To apply, send us a link to your video using this form by October 30, 2017. Submitting a video does not guarantee that you will be selected to be featured. If you are selected, we will contact you via email by November 3, 2017.
Can you tell us more about this new business community? There is already GYBO, GMB, and Google Small Business.
What needs to be addressed is that business owners have no way to edit crowd sourced content provided by local guides. Businesses want to protect their brand and without an easy edit option in the Google My Business dashboard, the business communities that I work with, are not happy with unprofessional photography, local guides not obtaining property releases to shoot at the business location, uploading jerky and low resolution video, and providing wrong or duplicate question that are already covered in a FAQ the business provides on their website.
Let’s stop this gamification of local information and rely on the ground truth from the business owners.

I want to know what kinds of LGs generated contents Business Owners should edit?
Hi @TPA360 ! Sure, the community is the Small Business Community from Google that was recently launched. This is not affiliated with Google My Business, however, we appreciate the feedback.
Thank you for the suggestion @KarthikeyanLandRov . Right now this is only open to Local Guides Level 6+, however we will look into expanding it to other levels in the future.
