Hello everyone,
Today in this post I will talk about some of the struggles I am going through.
“Are you here now” option is not coming for the last few days, I have been to many places and when I open the maps and open that place, it is not coming.
Because of this, I am not even writing a review for some places and it is difficult if I think that I went to place a on that day in the timeline, the place I went to is not there.
And if this is not a bug/issue from Google, they have removed that option altogether.
If that totally removed, then what is the way to correct the timeline?
I request the moderators to respond to this and help us on this issue.
Note: I have made this post for everyone, not for me in particular.

Hi @Rakshi2
You don’t need the Are you here now?-question to write a review.
Just open the pin on Google Maps and press the number of stars you want to give under the heading Rate and review.
Sometimes there is a link or button to start writing a review. Or go to reviews and add a review from there.
Does this solve your issue?
Cheers
Morten
@Rakshi2 I have noticed this as well. I had just mentioned this to @MelTG when we were at Cleveland Hopkins Airport on Thursday morning. We were waiting for our flight and I pulled up Maps. I noticed it said I was “here in December 2022” but had not yet changed to that day. That was when I noticed there was no “Are you here now?” to verify and improve the accuracy of my Timeline. As @MortenCopenhagen mentioned, you don’t need that to write a review for the POI. But as a LG who used that feature frequently, I can understand and appreciate why you noticed it’s apparent removal and your desire to know a “work around.”
Here are two things I recommend:
-
If you have a phone with a battery saver option, make sure it’s not active. Battery Saver effects background location and your Timeline runs through such. I take a lot of photos when we’re out and about, so I use that often. I have had days where it said I never left home, because I had that turned on.

While you’re at a location and you want to make certain your Timeline is going to reflect that you’re there, you can pull up your Timeline and edit your current location. It will offer a drop down box of surrounding POI and you can select or manually enter your exact location in that bar. I was going to take a screenshot, but I haven’t traveled anywhere yet today and it will not give me the option currently.
I hope one or both of these will help you with your question and struggle.
