ARE YOU A HUNGRY PILGRIM ON THE PORTUGUESE CAMINO?

  1. When you finally reach Porto, you will have plenty of opportunities to dine. There are thousands of restaurants for every pocket and taste. My choice, however, was based on the tip made by friends from Aveiro. They told me to try Francesinha - “one of the striking symbols of the city of Oporto”. Before hitting the road, visit Lado B Cafe at Rua de Passos Manuel 190.

  1. Some 40 km north of Porto behind Povoa de Varzim, you might easily pass a restaurant (Restaurante Da Praia) located just by the ocean. Order Pilgrim’s menu. You won’t regret your choice!

  1. Two days after, before crossing the bridge leading out of Caminha, if you are ready for more fish or seafood, visit Restaurante Remo. It is a family business serving a lot of yummy stuff.

  1. After crossing the border, Spain will welcome you with an exhautive ascend. Just next to a square leading to the cathedral, you will find Taperia O Albergue. Go for some meat or try cream soup!

  1. When you finally reach the destination, Santiago de Compostella, pay a visit to Cafe Bar Paris at Rua des Bautizados. There, they serve tomato sandwiches with delicious fresh coffee and orange juice for breakfasts.

BUEN CAMINO!
