Hello Guides! ![]()
SO… I’ve started this post with another question, but first things first:
the BIG one right here ![]()
What does the Local Guides program mean to you?
I could answer this simply: it means having the world at the palm of your hand.
Isn’t it?.. Nowadays, we are experiencing a new way of living. New ways of buying, paying, learning… Being a Local Guide is about expanding an be able to reach information about the things around us, and fundamentally, to share too. But let me complex this answer a little bit (cause I have to fill the article, haha) ![]()
Moreover, I’m starting to think about this community as a journal:
Sometimes, nobody cares about your trip or your experiences exploring new places, but in Local Guides Connect, I discover that there are people who appreciate this in the same way I do.
I’ve always thought of having a diary, or blog where to share my experiences, and being able to have a platform to upload my photos and write some lines (even if just one person reads it) it feels right.
So, essentially, I found this space as a potential public diary in a way! ![]()
It also inspires me to be a better photographer, improving the quality of pictures on the go.
One of my main purposes, when I share or use Maps, is to discover something new. I remembered being in Cusco, Peru looking for places to ha
ve dinner, and found an amazing one that had very good reviews! A plant-based organic restaurant that was a gem near the Plaza de Armas. I was so happy to get there that I took one hundred photos!!!
When you read reviews from other Guides, you trust them instantly. But the cool thing is, instead of being told, also experienced it!
Not mentioning the sense of accomplishment it feels to have been in an amazing location and share it.
It is about exploring, learning, growing.
Of course, you can also find some other amazing things aside from tech, but we cannot deny the powerful tool we have at our hands.
Especially for me, it is a way to remember the good things in life. ![]()
Even if I just have been in a few locations, I believe that the world is a big and wonderful place, and I have the sense that with initiatives like Local Guides we are for sure having a wider view of it. ![]()
Thank you for reading!!! ![]()
