Last week, I had a good time with my colleagues to go and try the ធ្នូខ្មែរ Khmer archery at Royal Archery 802.
It is located about 15 km from Siem Reap town and very closed to the the floating village of Kompong Pluk. We really enjoyed it.
What’s there to offer?
- Royal Archery history: it is made from Bamboo or different type of wood that is sturdy, one of them is made from Talipot palm [known locally as Traing]. In the ancient time, they used archeries as the weapon to kill the enemy. At the end of each archery, they use strong venom so when it targeted the enemy, they would die immediately. The archery is different from the king, the captain of the troops and soldiers. In the bas relief at Angkor Wat and Bayon temple, it shows that archery was the weapons. In the past, when they trained, they did not target the pad but they used coconuts
- Costs: The cost is very reasonable. 1.5h costs for 5$ for locals and local expats who are living and working in Cambodia and 9$ for visitors from overseas. You can use both ancient and modern archery while there. You may as well need to book in advanced.
- Access: by road, car or bikes only 15mns from Siem Reap town
- What to offer: you can order lunch and relax at the hut. Moreover, it also has homestays where you can sleep as well.

@Sophia_Cambodia Nice place, nice post and wonderful video. How many times have you hit the target?

@OlgaKlimchik hehehehe, it is harder than it looks. I must admit I failed the target more than hitting the target.
