The Warangal Fort is capable of recounting its golden past. Tourists remain impressed and surprised by the art and architecture of the Kakatiya rulers. After the reign of Ganapatideva, his courageous daughter Rudrama Devi completed the construction of the fort. The security of this fort was of high quality and triple layered including numerous bastions etc. For water supply, the construction of ponds and the amazing dance of Nataraja’s Tandava dance was developed, soldiers were also trained. The other rulers had evil intentions on the prosperity, granduer and success of the Kakatiya kingdom, and the empire came to an end due to constant attacks. The grand temple and palace were demolished. The seventeenth century earthquake wiped out the name of Warangal Fort.
The exploration work was taken over by the Archaeological Survey of India to revive the heritage sites of the Waqangal Fort of the Kakatiya kingdom by excavating the identified site and this excavation work by the Archaeological Survey of India is going on continuously at various locations like close to the Kush Mahal and Fort site. The remains found in the excavation have been stored in the open ground within the Warangal Fort. And research on all these remains simultaneously is also going on.
Archaeological Survey of India depends on funds and there efforts are appreciated. There findings are not limited to Fort Site but also extended towards the nearby villages and they discovered two inscriptions about Rudrama Devi.
