Hi @Ravistudent09 ,
AR or Augmented reality is a live view of a place where you can use AR to understand which way to go.
Introducing Live View, the new augmented reality feature in Google Maps
And I have noticed that you’re from India, sorry brother it is not available in India as of now.
Hello @Ravistudent09
You will find further information on AR & VR at this website.
To use AR, you need a handset supporting augmented reality.
The feature is not available in India, & thus you can’t use that in Maps.
Nevertheless, you can use that feature in Google search, & possibly, you may get a chance to use that overseas!
Hi @C_T ,
Thanks for the tips. I’ve just marked your answer as solution in case someone on Connect is searching for the same answer.
Can Anyone Help Because I Can Not See Any AR Tab Or Indication In Google Maps ?
Or It Is Only Available Outside India ?
Hello @Kiranharak
AR tab is available in India also, though AR is not possible. I can see the menu option on my handset.
However, to get that option you nay need a handset with AR or VR core.
You will get more information at this link.
@Kiranharak as @C_T pointed out, there are some limitations for users there in India.
To access “Live View” previously known as AR navigation (assuming your handset supports AR Core or AR Kit) find a destination on Maps, select “Directions”, and select “Walking Navigation icon”. You should see a button at the bottom that says “Live View”.
Live View doesn’t work in India because it inherently depends on public roads Street View imagery to orient direction and navigation, on top of GPS location services. Since India doesn’t have public roads Street View (limited by Government permissions as I understood it), so this won’t be available for the mean time.
Walking navigation works as always. ![]()
Hi @Kiranharak ,
To keep Connect organized I am going to merge your post to a similar thread.
Thank you!
