My name is Albin Sebastian, and I am a proud Level 9 Google Maps Local Guide. Over the years, contributing to Google Maps has become more than just a hobby—it has become a passion. I have travelled extensively across India and several other countries, documenting places through photographs, videos, and detailed reviews to help millions of people make informed decisions.
To date, I have contributed more than 9,000 photographs, over 700 videos, and numerous detailed reviews. Collectively, my photos and videos have received more than 22 million views, which motivates me to continue making meaningful contributions to the Google Maps community.
Recently, during a conversation with a fellow Local Guide, I learned that he had received appreciation gifts from Google after reaching different Local Guide milestones. He is currently a Level 7 Local Guide. While I genuinely felt happy for him, I also realized that despite reaching Level 9 and making substantial contributions over many years, I have never received any form of appreciation or recognition from the Local Guides program.
I fully understand that rewards are discretionary and not guaranteed. My intention is not to complain or demand gifts. Rather, I wish to express that even a small token of appreciation—a souvenir, a certificate, or any gesture of recognition—can mean a great deal to passionate contributors like me. Such encouragement not only acknowledges our efforts but also inspires us to continue enriching Google Maps with high-quality content.
