I love sharing drone photos of Kentucky, my home. Appalachia has a look and feel all its own. Like the Coal Mining Museum in Benham, Kentucky. It tells the story of coal miners of the area, yet the museum is a paradox as it uses solar panels on its roof to reduce its dependence on coal generated electric. Exploring Appalachia is a great experience. You can drive the winding mountain roads and see great vistas of the wooded mountains. Although you may sometimes see signs of strip mining for coal. I hope you come visit us in Kentucky.

Great photos, @stubob !
I love seeing photos that remind me of my home. I also was born and grew up in the Appalachian Mountains in Spruce Pine, NC. We also have some strip mining for some of the world’s most pure quartz. Welcome to the community!
