Apollo Fish Curry-Popular Seafood meal in Hyderabad

People in South India like eating Apollo fish. This dish is popular in Andhra restaurants and is an amazing treat. This is one of my favorite dishes, and I always seek for it at restaurants whenever I visit Hyderabad to spend my vacation. Many prominent Hyderabad restaurants provide a variety of delicious Apollo fish dishes, and the dish is very common on the menus of many Hyderabad restaurants. The Apollo Fish meal has a spicy, savory flavor and is available in many restaurants in Hyderabad. Apollo Fish Meal is often made using medium-sized boneless fillets of Salmon or, on sometimes, Snapper fish. These fishes are tender, fluffy, and their meat has a little sweet flavor, making it a superb sweet and spicy combo when combined with the marinade.

The fish in this meal is first deep fried before being seasoned. The crispy texture of the fish adds to its taste. The following are some popular restaurants in Hyderabad which serves some amazing Apollo fish meals:

This looks superlicious, @fasi6083 . I am definitely going to try making it. The photos look really tempting. I never knew about Apollo fish curry before. After reading your post, I searched for it and found the recipe as well. Thank you for sharing this. I will let you know how my cooking turns out.

Oh btw, what other fish can I use for Apollo fish curry, other than salmon or snapper? Will tilapia or cod or mahi mahi work?

@AngieYC , knowing the Indian food style, this dish can easily be eaten with steamed rice or bread (roti/ chapati). You can even eat it with plain noodles, I guess. Or have it just as a starter, with a side of salad or chutney.

Thanks very much your comment and Iam glad that you like this dish @AngieYC In our tradition, we normally eat this fish dish with Rumali roti, a native flat bread, or Butter naan (Oven baked bread).

Thank you so much for your comment @SoniaK . Any firm boneless and lean meat fish, as far as I know, would work for this fish curry meal.
